The license plates lost their vowels — sound them out and read the hidden phrase.
A vanity plate flashes up with all its vowels stripped out, and your job is to crack what it spells. Just like the real personalized plates on the road, the letters sound out something clever once you fill the gaps — "PLYGRN" reads as "Play Green." Decode as many as you can before the clock runs down.
It's a quick brain-teaser that rewards a good ear for how words sound. Dodge hosts it, and you get 60 seconds a round.
How to play Bumper Stumpers
- A plate appears with its vowels removed (for example, "PLYGRN" for "Play Green").
- Work out the word or phrase by sounding out the consonants and adding the missing vowels.
- Enter your answer to score, and the next plate appears.
- Solve as many as you can before the 60-second timer ends.
- Your score is how many you decoded — try to beat it next time.
Tips & strategy
- Say the consonants out loud in your head — hearing the sounds is usually what makes it click.
- Watch for numbers standing in for words, like "4" for "for" or "2" for "to".
- Short plates are often everyday phrases; test common sayings and greetings first.
- If one won't come, move on. A fresh plate is worth more than staring down a stubborn one.
- Think about how it would sound spoken, not how it looks written — these are made for the ear.
