Watch, listen, and play the tune back — one note longer every round.

Four colored pads light up and play a sequence, and you repeat it by tapping them in order. Every round tacks one more note onto the end, so the melody keeps growing. How many can you hold in your head before you fumble a note?

It's part memory, part rhythm, and it feels genuinely great when a long sequence locks into place. Hum — our headphones-wearing, music-loving Zelpling — hosts this one. Tap on touch, or use 1–4 / Q W A S on a keyboard.

How to play Echo

1. Watch and listen as Hum plays a sequence across the four pads.
2. Play it back by tapping the pads in the same order (or press 1–4 / Q W A S).
3. Get it right and the next round adds one more note to the end.
4. Keep repeating the growing tune for as long as you can.
5. One wrong note ends the run — your score is how long an echo you held.

Tips & strategy

• Listen as much as you watch. Each pad has its own pitch, so the melody itself helps you remember.
• Chunk the sequence into groups of three or four notes instead of one long list.
• Play back at a steady rhythm — rushing is where the slips creep in.
• Hum or say the colors along with it; turning it into a pattern makes it stick.
• Stay loose as it grows. Panic is the enemy of memory — trust what you just heard.
