Play Gobblet

Line up four — and gobble your foe’s pieces under bigger ones.

Get four of your pieces in a row. Bigger pieces gobble smaller ones — even the CPU’s. Tap a piece (on the board or in your reserves), then tap where to play it. Beat the CPU, or duel a friend in 2-Player!

About Gobblet & how to play

Four-in-a-row with teeth: your bigger pieces can gobble smaller ones — yours or your opponent's.

Gobblet is tic-tac-toe that grew up and got sneaky. On a 4×4 board you race for four in a row, but your pieces come in sizes, and a bigger one drops right on top of a smaller one — covering, or 'gobbling,' it, friend or foe. You can pick up and move pieces you've already placed too, so a winning line can vanish in a single move.

Pip hosts it. Face the computer or pull a friend into 2-Player on the same device. Quick to learn, packed with bluffs and comebacks.

How to play Gobblet

  1. Get four of your pieces in a row — across, down, or diagonally — to win.
  2. Pieces come in different sizes; a bigger one can be placed on top of a smaller one to gobble it.
  3. Gobble the opponent's smaller pieces, or cover your own to free up a line.
  4. Tap a piece — on the board or in your reserves — then tap where to play it.
  5. Play the CPU, or flip to 2-Player for a friend on one device.

Tips & strategy

  • Keep big pieces in reserve. They're your answer to an opponent's three-in-a-row — gobble the threat.
  • Watch what's underneath. Moving your own piece off a square can reveal an opponent's piece — and their line.
  • Don't spend your largest pieces too early; once they're down, they can't gobble anything new.
  • Set two threats at once so they can't cover both — the classic double attack still wins here.
  • Track the hidden pieces. Remembering what's buried under a stack often decides a close game.
