About Nonogram & how to play
Read the number clues, fill the right squares, and watch a hidden picture appear.
The numbers beside each row and column tell you the runs of filled squares hidden in that line — a clue of '4 2' means four filled, a gap, then two. Cross-reference the rows against the columns and you can deduce exactly which squares to fill, and a little picture reveals itself as you go. Pure logic with a payoff at the end.
Dodge hosts it, no clock — take your time. Mark the squares you've ruled out, and pick any pen color to make the finished picture your own.
How to play Nonogram
- Read the numbers beside each row and column — they list the runs of filled squares, in order.
- Fill the squares you can prove, and use Mark (✕) to note the ones you've ruled out.
- Cross-reference rows against columns to pin down each square with certainty.
- Drag to paint across several squares at once, in whatever pen color you like.
- Fill exactly the right squares to complete the picture — no clock, so go at your pace.
Tips & strategy
- Start with the biggest clues. A long run forces some squares to be filled no matter how it slides.
- Mark blanks with ✕ as you rule them out — knowing where a run can't go is as useful as where it can.
- Work rows and columns together: filling one square often settles a square in the crossing line.
- Look for full lines. A "10" clue on a 10-wide grid fills the whole row outright.
- Never guess. Every square can be reasoned out, so if you're unsure, find the line with a definite move.
