Eat, grow, and don't bite yourself.
Eat the blue dots. Don't bite yourself. Play Green!
About Snake & how to play
Grab the dots, grow your tail, and whatever you do, don't chomp yourself.
You're a wiggly snake with exactly one job: eat. Every dot you swallow adds a segment to your tail and makes the board a little more crowded — mostly with you. No boss, no timer, no finish line. The one thing that can end the run is your own tail, which is either the genius or the cruelty of the whole game.
Hum hosts this one — the chill Zelpling in the headphones. It's free, it runs right in your browser, and the only score worth beating is your own last one.
How to play Snake
- Move with the arrow keys or WASD. On a phone, swipe the way you want to turn.
- Steer onto the blue dots to eat them — each one grows your tail by a segment and bumps your score.
- You can't stop. The snake is always sliding forward, so pick your next turn before you get there.
- Touch a wall or your own tail and the run is over. No enemies here — the only thing that beats you is you.
- There's no ending. Survive longer, score higher, top your best.
Tips & strategy
- Ride the outside early. Looping the edges keeps the middle open and gives your brain room to think.
- Always leave yourself a way out — diving into a tight gap for one dot is the classic way a great run dies.
- Don't chase every dot the second it appears. Finish your path and swing back for it; it's not going anywhere.
- Slow down in your head. Almost every crash is one panicked turn, not the game being too quick.
- Once your tail gets long, treat the board like a maze you're drawing for yourself — and don't wall yourself in.
